Xiaomi has followed a clear launch pattern for the past few years. The company usually introduces its camera-focused premium flagship phones in September. After that, Redmi brings its performance-centric flagship lineup in October, which usually offers strong hardware but slightly weaker camera systems compared to Xiaomi’s main series.
However, a new leak from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station suggests a major change in this schedule.
Redmi K100 series launch timeline tipped
According to a recent Weibo post, the Redmi K100 series may arrive earlier than expected, possibly in Q3 this year. This means Redmi could break its usual October launch cycle and enter the market ahead of time.
Reports also claim that the Redmi K100 Pro Max will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. This processor is expected to launch officially in September. Because of this timing, the Redmi K100 series may also debut in the same month or very close to it.
Interestingly, the same tipster previously mentioned that Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship lineup: the Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max, could also launch in September. If both Xiaomi and Redmi flagship series arrive in the same month, it may create internal competition and affect sales between the two lineups. Because of this, Xiaomi might delay the Xiaomi 18 series to October to avoid overlap.
On the Redmi side, the K100 lineup is expected to include the standard Redmi K100 and Redmi K100 Pro Max. These models may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipsets respectively. There are also early rumors suggesting a possible third model in the series, but no clear details are available yet.
In addition, Digital Chat Station hinted in the comments that Redmi could launch more products in Q4. While nothing is confirmed, many believe the Redmi Turbo 6 series could arrive during that period.
Expected Specifications of the Redmi K100 lineup
Another leak from Ashok Mor suggests that the Redmi K100 lineup may feature 2K 144Hz OLED displays, larger batteries compared to previous generation models, and improved thermal cooling systems. The Pro Max variant is also rumored to feature a 200MP primary sensor paired with a periscope telephoto lens, pushing Redmi further into flagship camera territory.
